Contemporary Self-Portrait in Photography

Workshop led by Iveta Vaivode
22. - 27.07.2013
Participants: 4 Fine Art students from EAA and 5 youngsters from Narva town
Location: University of Tartu Narva College and various locations in Narva

"Contemporary Self-Portrait in Photography" led by Iveta Vaivode focused on the interaction between young participants living in Tallinn and in Narva. Participants were divided into 4 groups, that were all working with different areas of Narva: the centre, river area, railway area and the area of Krenholm Manufacturing Company. Every participant created a photo series that would relate to the given district. These series were not self-portraits in a straightforward way, but rather showed the autobiographical aspects of the authors in relation to Narva. Workshop was followed by a presentation and an exhibition in the hall of University of Tartu Narva College.
